Weakness....

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE taking pictures and creating a special portrait of the world the way I see it, but sometimes I want to be on the other side of the lense, because sometimes I have visions, if you will, about different photoshoots and they are always ones where I am the model. So I either need to find a fellow photographer who would be willing to put up with a wannabe model, or I just need to get over myself. Take the Valentine's project I've been working on, for example. I have so many ideas, and they're all fabulous, but I'm the one who has to shoot, not pose. It gets a little tough- especially when all you have are really young siblings. And, although I will be using my parents for the less "cutesy" shots, I almost wish, just a little, that I could be posing with a special someone. But, I'm single, (as well I should be), and I have no Valentine this year.

What's your passion?

Lately, I've been wanting to come up with a photo project I could do, and after sifting a slew of ideas through my head such as: 31 days of pictures, the ABC's according to my camera, my face (different features from various people), and I finally stumbled upon it- I will try to photograph what people's passions are in the most creative way I can dream up, trying to express their personality through my lovely little Fujifilm. So... I'll have to find me a model or two first!

My little brother's first sleigh ride at his preschool. I singled him out, and added snow, because what little kid doesn't dream of a white Christmas?
I heard this quote somewhere, and it inspired my inner hopeless romantic.
This isn't supposed to be cool or anything, I was just goofing with the focus and the zoomy-subject thingy. Don't judge.
By far, my most favorite. The color is awesome, and dandelions are the very essence of wishing and dreams. Pretty much just all-round cool. :^)

Color- what's your obsession?

So, if you've looked at my blog, you'll notice a popular posting with me: sunsets and flowers. I suppose it's kind of an obsession, but I have my reasons. It's all about color with me. It's such a big part of my world, so why not share this beauty? You may get tired of looking at sunsets and flowers, but notice the life inside them. See that sunset? You can't duplicate those pinks and purples and oranges, because those colors are alive. The flower petals? That color is living inside. You can't perfectly re-create them because you can't make living color. So the reason I guess I love taking pictures of them so much is because if you're lucky, you can see the life.
Plus... Arizona sunsets are known for their beauty. Why not share?

I was recently in Seussical, the Musical as Jojo, (best. Experience. Ever.) and on the last night I got quite a few bouquets, so I took a few pics and when they were about to be thrown out, took some more. Enjoy!
